Why does my PC’s WiFi keep disconnecting randomly?

My PC's WiFi keeps disconnecting randomly, no matter what I'm doing. I know it's not my router because others in the house don't have this problem. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled my wireless adapter, and I disabled the setting that lets Windows turn off WiFi to save energy, but nothing has worked. In fact, my WiFi just disconnected again while I was typing this. Can anyone help me figure this out?

Have you checked if your BIOS, firmware, and chipset are all up-to-date? Also, which Wi-Fi card are you using—built-in or external? If the DHCP on your router has run out of available addresses, that could cause issues, too. Check the signal strength and see what Wi-Fi protocol your card supports (a, b, g, n, ac, ax). You might want to try disabling automatic protocol settings and manually setting it to a specific one, to prevent your device from trying to connect to unsupported networks.

I have no idea how to update those. I attempted it before, but it was confusing. I'll try your suggestion about the protocol settings, though.

If your connection drops, try switching the settings to force a 2.4GHz connection instead of letting it auto-negotiate. It often works better for stability.

I did that, and it hasn't disconnected once since! Thanks a ton!
