I'm really struggling to make space on my iPhone 12 Pro since I'm using almost all 128 GB of storage. As a photographer and videographer, I need to keep my images but I also need to free up space to perform a software update. I've tried clearing out unnecessary files and apps, but it still isn't enough. I have an old Windows PC that I used to use to transfer files from my phone to an external drive, but that method seems outdated now. I've attempted using the Apple devices app to connect with my PC, but it just shows an empty folder. I'm at my wit's end and need to figure out how to safely transfer my photos and videos without losing them. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!

You can also look into services like ChatDrop that might help you transfer files more easily. Just share files with yourself through the service and download them back on your PC.
If you have access to a MacBook, consider using the Photos app to import your pictures and videos. Just a heads-up, it doesn't handle photos and videos in the same batch very well, but it works for transferring. If you're using a Windows PC, try some transfer tools like Xosend to quickly move files over—just make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi to speed things up!
You could use iCloud for a simple and low-cost backup option. For about 99 cents a month, you can back up your photos and videos, and it makes it super easy to restore everything on a new phone if needed. Sounds like it could save you a lot of hassle!
Have you considered moving just a few of your less important videos over to an external drive first? It might help clear out some space quickly without having to do a full transfer.

Unfortunately, I only have a Windows PC right now.
