How Can I Make My PC Less Noticeable and Secure It?

I'm heading out for a summer internship and will be living in community housing. I want to keep up with my content creation but I'm worried about my PC getting stolen. How can I make my PC less conspicuous, or even disguise it so it doesn't look like a PC at all? Bonus points if I can make it appear less appealing to potential thieves. I'm not concerned about the weight, as I have a car, and I won't be able to get a laptop or another PC for about a month.

One fun idea is to make it look like junk. You could cover it with a cardboard box that says 'not a computer' or smear some old coffee on it for that 'biohazard' vibe. The more unappealing it looks, the less likely someone will want to take it!

Consider looking into sleeper builds. They’re designed to look like regular household items, making them less appealing. You could also lock it down with a Kensington lock for extra security. If you're really worried, a cloud computer is a great option so that you don’t have a physical PC to steal.

You could also try building your PC into something that blends in with your surroundings. For example, placing it in a beat-up old case or inside a furniture piece can work wonders. Just make sure to camouflague it well!

Why not get creative? How about modding a toaster to fit your components? I know it sounds wild, but hey, I've used an Amazon box as a case for months, and nobody batted an eye!

If you're really concerned about theft, you might want to focus on securing it rather than just hiding it. Consider locking your door if you have one, and keep your PC in your locked room. Creating obstacles is more effective than trying to make it look boring!
