Why Isn’t My PC Displaying After a BIOS Update?

I updated my BIOS, and now my PC won't display anything. I've tried clearing the CMOS, removing the RAM, and even swapping out the graphics cards, but there's still no post. I also replaced my motherboard because I thought it might be bricked, but I'm still having the same issue. Oddly enough, when I installed my wife's i7 CPU, the system posted. So, I'm wondering why my system works with her CPU after the update but not with my own i9.

It sounds like you might have accidentally flashed an older BIOS version. That could explain why your i7 is working but your i9 isn't compatible anymore. Do you have a dual BIOS option on your motherboard? If so, you might want to try switching to that. Also, check if there's a way to reflash the BIOS without needing to post, like a flash button on the motherboard.

BIOS updates can often adjust power settings to improve system stability, especially after vulnerabilities were found in Intel chips. Have you tried resetting to safe default settings? That might help resolve any conflicts with the settings post-update.

Did you check the release notes for the BIOS update? Sometimes they contain info on compatibility issues that could affect certain CPUs. Also, did you use an identical motherboard when you were swapping parts, or was it a different model? If you rolled back, do you remember which BIOS version you had installed before the update?
