I'm considering whether I should switch my current PC setup for AM5. Right now, I'm gaming at 1440p resolution with an R5800X CPU, RX 9060 XT GPU with 16GB VRAM, and 32GB of RAM, all on an ASUS TUF B550M Plus WiFi motherboard. I'm thinking about upgrading to an R7600X with 16GB of DDR5 RAM and a new ASUS TUF B650M or B850M Plus WiFi motherboard. Is this a worthwhile change?

What specifically is your current setup lacking? If it meets your needs now, it might not be worth spending so much for AM5 and DDR5 compared to what you have. Just make sure the potential problems outweigh the costs of upgrading!
Your current setup is pretty solid! Unless you're looking to spend on 32GB of RAM and an X3D CPU, I’d recommend sticking with AM4 for now. Your system has a lot of life left in it!
Yeah, my budget can't stretch that far for the X3D CPUs. They do perform really well, though!
Ask yourself: does your current setup play all the games you want without issues? If it does, there's really no need to rush into an upgrade. You'd likely only benefit from a new platform if you also invest in a better GPU and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. In all honesty, you might find that performance could take a hit since you're dropping down to 16GB of RAM. It might be best to wait until you can afford more RAM and a better CPU like an X3D or a 9000 series before making any changes.
Right now, an upgrade wouldn't be a significant improvement and it would cost quite a lot. Components are pricey, so it's better to hold off until you can afford a more comprehensive upgrade instead of just switching platforms.
Honestly, I think you might not see much improvement switching CPUs. It could be better to invest in a stronger GPU instead. If you're considering a change, maybe look at an i5-14600K paired with a DDR4 board, as it could give you more bang for your buck.
With prices being what they are now, I can't afford those upgrades, whether it’s a CPU or GPU!

It handles everything I need, but I wondered if going for AM5 would be more future-proof. I’m new to building PCs and unsure when an upgrade is really worth it.
