I've been a longtime user of Winamp since the late '90s and have a massive music collection that it manages well. Just today, when I tried to launch the app, I got a message saying, 'This app has been blocked for your protection. An administrator has blocked you from running this app.' I've done everything I could think of to resolve this, including uninstalling and reinstalling Winamp, running it as an administrator, and disabling various settings in Windows Security. I even managed to start the installer from the command prompt, but the app still won't run. My Windows 11 is up to date, and I'm on the Pro version, which has never been part of a corporate network. I can't figure out what's changed since it was working fine yesterday.

This sounds like it might be a policy issue since it mentions being blocked for protection. Even though you’re the admin, sometimes policies can be confusing on the Pro version. Maybe check any recent security policies you might’ve set, or try consulting with someone who's got experience in Windows settings.
Silly question, but have you tried the classic turn-it-off-and-on-again? It’s surprising how often that does the trick. Also, if you’re considering using an older version like 5.666, it's been working great for some users, just a thought!
I’ve got Windows 11 updated as well, and I’m able to run Winamp perfectly fine. I’m actually using version 5.666 instead of the latest one. You might want to try that older version since it seems to work. It’s funny how Windows 11 can block the latest but allows a much older version to run without issues.
