Hey all! I'm considering an upgrade for my GPU and I'd love some advice. I primarily play esports games like Counter-Strike 2 and Valorant, dabble in some AAA titles, and do graphic design as well. Here are my current specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X
- GPU: RTX 3060 Ti
- Motherboard: B550M (Gigabyte)
- RAM: 32GB DDR4 (2x16)
- Storage: 1TB NVMe
- PSU: 750W
- Monitor: 1440p (Acer VG272U W2) with an additional 27" 100Hz screen
I'm eyeing a Gigabyte AERO OC RTX 5070 Ti I found locally for about **USD$1020**. There seems to be a lot of mixed opinions about whether my 5700X would bottleneck the 5070 Ti, especially in esports games. I'm trying to figure out:
1. Will my 5700X significantly bottleneck the 5070 Ti at 1440p?
2. Will I notice a real-world performance improvement from the 3060 Ti?
3. Should I prioritize upgrading my GPU first, or would it be smarter to upgrade to an 5800X3D first?
4. For those using high-end GPUs with the AM4 setup, how has your experience been?
5. Is around **S$1300** a fair price for a 5070 Ti AERO, or should I hold off? I'm aiming for better performance and longevity at 1440p and found what seems like a decent deal here in Singapore.

Definitely an upgrade, but I'd say save a bit and consider a 5800X3D and a 9070 XT instead. Spending $1300 on the 5070 Ti seems a bit much given you can score other options around $1000 that might give you a better performance. Just my two cents!
The 5070 Ti is on the pricier side from what I've seen. I snagged a PNY Epic X RGB OC 5080 for $1269, so the $1300 for the 5070 Ti isn't appealing. You might want to shop around a bit more.
The Ryzen 7 5700X is generally a good match for the 5070 Ti. There might be minor bottlenecks in CPU-intensive scenarios, especially during heavy rendering or ray tracing, but overall you should be fine for gaming, especially at 1440p. Just remember that if you mainly play competitive games, the performance can vary. Overall, if you're looking for an upgrade, it's a solid choice!
If the price is close (maybe $100-$200 difference), the 5070 Ti is a great upgrade if you're into NVIDIA features like DLSS. On the flip side, the 9070 XT offers better bang for your buck, just check your PSU since it has a higher TDP. My 5070 Ti runs smoothly with undervolt and OC, so it doesn’t draw too much power, around 300-330W at max load. Keep that in mind when making your decision.
