Best Linux Distro for Someone with Developmental Disabilities?

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for advice because my brother, who is 26 but has a cognitive level similar to a child, needs help with his laptop (a Dell Latitude E7470). He struggles to communicate and often gets very frustrated with technology, especially when it breaks, which can lead to some intense meltdowns. He's shown some ability to navigate devices, but I'm concerned about him possibly having issues with Linux since I know it can be a bit tricky at times. I'm considering options like Linux Mint or Chrome OS. Are there any beginner-friendly Linux distributions that would be suitable for someone in his situation?

Installing Fedora or Linux Mint could work too! I started with Fedora when I was super new to tech, and I found it pretty easy to get the hang of. It just depends on how he plans to use the computer.

What does he actually need the computer for? That could really influence the best choice.

You might want to go for ChromeOS Flex. It's super user-friendly and really hard to mess up, so it could be a good fit for your brother.

Just a heads up, you can actually reinstall Windows for free on that laptop if it already had a license. Download Windows 11 Pro and it should activate without any extra cost!
