Which GPU to Choose: Arc A380 or RX 580 for $150?

I'm looking to upgrade my old m920s and swap it out for an i7 8700 paired with 8GB DDR4 since my current setup can't handle modern games, not even titles from 2013. Everything is picked out except for the GPU. I initially wanted an RX 6600, but it's way too pricey in my area. The only viable options I have are the RX 580 8GB for $100 and the Arc A380 6GB for $130. Which one should I go for if I'm aiming for a more future-proof build? And please, no suggestions about stretching my budget—I can't do that. I also prefer buying new for the warranty.

Honestly, the A380 is slightly better if you can enable resizable bar, but considering your CPU is a bit older, I'd stick with the RX 580 for now. Plus, the RX 580 has a proven track record in gaming! But keep an eye out for other options like the 1660 Ti if you can find one at a decent price.

The RX 580 is easier to find, and while the A380 may have some newer tech, it's a bit more hit-or-miss with performance in games. Stick with what’s proven for now, especially in your price range.

If I were you, I'd definitely go with the RX 580! It's a solid card that performs well for its price, especially for gaming at 1080p. Just make sure your power supply can handle it. It sounds like a good fit for your setup.

I get wanting to stick to new parts for peace of mind, but sometimes deals on used GPUs can be great. Just make sure they come from a reputable source if you decide to go that route.

It might be worth looking into alternatives, but if you're set on these two, the RX 580 will probably give you better value. Just check out some benchmarks to see how they stack up in the games you want to play.
