Is a Little Wiggle in GPU Cables After Cable Management Normal?

I just finished organizing the cables in my PC build, and I'm a bit anxious about the GPU connections. While I was adjusting the PCIE cables and pulling the slack behind the case, I noticed that the connectors going into my GPU wiggled slightly. The case is pretty cramped, so I couldn't get my fingers in there to hold the plastic shrouds and had to push the connectors into the GPU using the cable necks. The main 6-pin connector feels secure, but the extra 2-pin connector, which doesn't have its own clip, has a little bit of movement. Everything seems to be functioning fine, but is some wiggle normal, or could I have damaged the header or pins by adjusting the slack or pushing on them?

If you're really concerned, just compare it to your other cables. You’ll notice if something seems off. I recommend pushing it in as far as it can go and leave it be until you need to check again. If the anxiety’s got you stressed, consider checking out CableMod for high-quality cables that provide a solid fit.

It's common for these connectors to have a bit of play, especially with the 6+2 setups. Just make sure it's seated properly, and you should be good to go! If you're super worried, snapping a picture and getting some advice online can help ease your mind.

Yeah, that little wiggle in the 2-pin connector is pretty normal, especially if it doesn't have a locking mechanism like the 6-pin. As long as the main connection feels solid and you're not seeing any performance issues, you should be fine!
