I lost my phone last year, and that device had an important Gmail account set up with 2-step verification. I've managed to recover my mobile number, but I can't remember the password for my Gmail. Whenever I try to log in and click on 'forgot password', they ask for an OTP to be sent to my mobile number. I receive that OTP, but then I'm prompted for an additional code from Gmail, which I can't provide since I no longer have access to it. Can anyone assist me with this issue?

If the lost phone was an iPhone, you can try using the iCloud app on a Windows or Mac computer. Just log into your Apple account and see if it syncs your passwords. If you had it set up, you might find your Google password there. For Android, there should be a similar service, but I know syncing isn't always a guarantee. Since you mentioned it's Android, unfortunately, the password syncing might not work for you.

Actually, it was an Android device, so syncing passwords didn't help me out.
