Do I need to use all my PSU cables for the GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti?

Hey everyone! I'm looking into getting the GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GAMING OC 16G. From what I've read, it needs three PCI-E 6+2 pin cables, and my PSU, which is an AORUS P750W 80+ GOLD Modular, can handle 750W, so I think I'm good there.

My PSU actually comes with three PCI-E 6+2 pin cables—two are regular, while one is a pig-tail (they call it four cables total). I've seen a lot of discussion about using pig-tailed cables, so I'm wondering if it's safe to power the graphics card using the three normal cables and just leave the pig-tail unused. I believe issues arise mainly when you try to plug the pig-tail into the GPU, right?

Appreciate any guidance! 🙂

You’re on the right track! It’s definitely a good idea to use the two direct cables for the best load distribution. You can leave one PCI-E slot empty and still be safe, as the card will draw plenty of power from the two cables.

So just to confirm, you mean I can connect two cables and not worry about losing performance?
