What’s the Best PC Build for Game Development, Blender, and Video Editing?

I'm looking to build a PC specifically for game development (particularly with Unreal Engine 5), Blender projects, and video editing. My budget is between $3000 to $3500, but I'm willing to spend a bit more if it really boosts performance. I need it to handle a dual 4K monitor setup since I don't care much about 4K gaming. The only components I'm set on are a GPU from the 5070 Ti or 5080 series, and I want 32GB of DDR5 RAM. I could use some solid suggestions for cooling, power supply, motherboard, and any other parts that would round out a really good build.

For your requirements, I would suggest going with an AMD 7800X3D paired with an RTX 4080 Super. It's a solid choice for gaming and productivity tasks. You could also look into a Microcenter bundle that includes the 9800X3D CPU, a good motherboard, and the 32GB RAM for around $680. For your power supply, check out the be quiet! Pure Power 13 M; it's very quiet and has excellent reliability. As for cooling, the Phantom Spirit 120 SE is decent, but if you want top-notch cooling, the Noctua NH-D15 G2 is a great option. Also, definitely consider getting a super ultrawide monitor for your Blender and UE5 tasks—it’s a game changer!

Thanks for the recommendations! I’m curious, why did you stop pursuing game development? I'm just diving into it now. Also, do you think it would be better to save some cash by going for the 7800X3D instead? I've heard CPUs aren't usually the bottleneck in these applications.

That's true, CPUs generally aren't a huge bottleneck for game dev and 3D work. And yeah, definitely steer clear of the 5080 or 5090—it has a reputation for overheating, and the cable issues are a real concern!
