I'm looking for advice on whether I should buy or build a PC for my daughter, who loves gaming. She's been enjoying playing games on consoles and wants her own PC. I'm trying to keep the cost reasonable since she's only 10 years old. I think it could be a fun bonding project to build a PC together. What are your thoughts on the best options for doing either?

If you enjoy building computers, I'd say go for it and build one together! It can be a great bonding experience. Plus, you can find some decent prebuilt ones from big retailers if you're worried about the costs.
What's your budget? Typically, if you want new decent parts, you'll be looking at around $1,000, but you may find options in the $800-$900 range for used parts.
It really depends on your budget and the games she plans to play. Building a PC with used parts can save you money. Plus, learning to upgrade components can be fun and practical for her!
She loves games like Minecraft, COD, and GTA. A good laptop would be over $2,000, and I don't want to go that high yet.
Looking for a second-hand PC with something like a 3060 could be a good move. Alternatively, a prebuilt PC could save time. Waiting until she’s older before building could also make sense since then you can focus on upgrading parts together later on.
I just snagged a great deal for a 3060ti PC for $300! A good second-hand option might be exactly what you need.
I built my first PC at 12. It was a totally fun experience and I'd recommend you build one with her too! It's memorable moments like that she will treasure.
Exactly! I think the experience of building it together will be just as valuable as the PC itself.

Looking to keep it under $2,000. I have my MB Pro M5 already.
