Hey everyone! I've been noticing that my PC has been getting slower over the last few months, and I'm really struggling to figure out the cause. Games that used to run smoothly now drop in FPS significantly, and I'm getting frame rates that are much lower than others with similar setups. Here are my specs:
- CPU: i7-10700F
- GPU: RTX 2060
- RAM: 32GB
- Motherboard: ASRock H410M-HVS
- Storage: 240GB SSD + 2TB HDD
- Operating System: Windows 11
- Monitor Resolution: 1366x768
Nothing seems to be overheating since both the CPU and GPU are rarely maxed out, and I even reinstalled Windows recently. I've ensured that my drivers are all updated.
What's really odd is that Cinebench runs much slower than it did before, HWiNFO is showing my CPU Package Power is only 12-15W under full load, and the Task Manager indicates an unusually high thread and handle count, even after a reboot. There are no background tasks using the CPU at all.
I'm puzzled as to why the CPU isn't getting enough power. Do you think this could be related to the BIOS, drivers, the Windows scheduler, or something else? Any insights would be super helpful!

It sounds like you might be facing a driver issue. Can you check what GPU driver version you have installed? It's important to keep it up to date, as a lot of performance issues can stem from outdated drivers.
Considering your Cinebench results, there might be a CPU throttling issue occurring, possibly due to power limits being set in the BIOS. If the CPU package power is that low under load, it’s definitely worth looking into your power settings or even trying a BIOS update if one is available.
I had a similar issue once, and it turned out to be the BIOS settings. Sometimes certain power settings in the BIOS can limit CPU performance. If you haven't already, it might be worth checking to make sure everything is configured properly.
