I'm trying to set up my Debian machine as an SSH server, but it keeps suspending at the login screen. I don't plan on logging in the traditional way and would prefer to access it via SSH. Does anyone know how to stop the system from suspending during the login phase?

You might want to check the power management settings in your desktop environment. There should be an option to disable suspend entirely, but make sure you're looking at the settings for the login screen specifically, not just the user session.
Are you sure it's not just freezing instead of actually suspending? Lately, I've seen some folks having issues where their login screens are becoming unresponsive, which could make it seem like it's suspending.
