Help! My D Drive Disappeared After Partitioning

Hey everyone, I really need your help. I have a 2 TB SSD on my Windows PC and I initially only had one drive, C. I used MiniTool Partition Wizard to create a D drive partition, splitting it into two roughly 900 GB drives. I saved a bunch of data on the D drive and locked it with Bitlocker. Everything was fine for a couple of days, but then out of nowhere, my D drive vanished! Now, all I see is Drive C with around 900 GB and in disk management, I only see green free space next to it. I really need to recover my D drive and its data. I have the Bitlocker key, but even after trying tools like DMDE and TestDisk, I haven't been able to resolve the issue. Any advice?

First off, make sure to have a backup of all your important data in the future. For your current situation, when you're in DMDE, check if the partition shows a bcf indicator. If it does, you can revert that change and potentially recover your drive.

When your computer starts, doesn’t it prompt you for the Bitlocker key to access the D drive? Try doing a proper shutdown instead of a hybrid shutdown or sleep mode. After that, restart your PC and see if it prompts for the Bitlocker key.

Nope, it just starts up normally and only shows Drive C with 900 GB.

Have you tried booting from a Linux Live USB? You might be able to see the D partition that way. Just a quick heads up, partitioning drives can be risky. If one fills up and the other has space, managing that can lead to data loss. Always good to have a backup plan in place.

I did try that! I can see my data, but it’s locked due to Bitlocker encryption so I can’t access or recover it.
