Why isn’t my Ryzen 5 5500 reaching its maximum clock speed?

I'm using a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, which is supposed to have a normal clock speed of 4.25 GHz. However, when I play Valorant, I notice it only hits about 3.95 GHz. Is this something I can fix, or is it usually like this?

It’s pretty normal for CPUs to not hit their max boost speeds all the time, especially during gaming when the load is distributed across multiple cores. The 4.25 GHz is mainly for single-core tasks, so in games like Valorant, you’ll typically see your speed around 3.9 to 4.1 GHz. Just keep an eye on your temperatures and make sure everything runs smoothly, and you should be fine!

Are you experiencing any performance issues? If you're seeing micro stutters, that might be something else to look into, but generally, the clock speed you mentioned is expected for multi-core loads like gaming.
