I'm currently living in a shared house, and one of my housemates has a TP-Link extender that they refuse to unplug. Unfortunately, it's really affecting everyone's wireless connections. I've gone into the router's management settings and added the extender to the device filter to block it, but it's still causing problems. What else can I do to resolve this issue?

It sounds like your housemate's extender might be low-quality and causing interference. Have you tried checking if it's using the same channel as your router? If your router has a frequency spectrum scan feature, you could use it to find a less congested channel. You can also manually check the channels using a tool like WiFi Analyzer on Android to see what's going on in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This could help pinpoint the issue!
I shared a screenshot of my WiFi analysis. I think the overlap could be the problem.
Yeah, it's super important to check what channel the extender is using and compare it to your router. If they’re both on the same channel, you’re probably running into interference problems. WiFi analyzer tools can help with this. Sometimes newer devices also struggle to connect properly with older hardware, especially when dealing with 2.4GHz and 5GHz merging issues, so take that into account too!
I posted my WiFi analysis. Any specific advice on what to do next?
I'll definitely check that out, thanks!
