Need Help Installing Ubuntu on My Laptop

I'm trying to install Ubuntu on my laptop, and I'm really struggling with the boot installation process. I downloaded Ubuntu 25.04 Desktop (64-bit) and created a bootable USB stick using BalenaEtcher. Everything seemed fine until I reached the installation screen. I got an error saying "error: file '/boot/' not found," along with another message that mentions it can't find the command 'grup_p.' I see a menu with options to try or install Ubuntu, but selecting any option just shows the same error message. Interestingly, I tested the USB stick on a desktop, and it worked fine there, so I don't think the stick is faulty. I can provide screenshots and videos to help diagnose the issue. Thanks for any assistance!

It sounds like you might need to disable secure boot in your laptop's BIOS. Sometimes that can cause issues with booting from a USB drive. Also, consider reflashing your USB with a tool like Rufus.

Reflashing with Rufus sounds good! But how would I go about doing that with my phone?

You might want to try using an older version like Ubuntu 24.04 LTS since it's a more stable release compared to the 25.04.

Make sure that your USB creation method didn't skip over any steps. Sometimes, tweaking the USB settings in Rufus can make a difference too.

Check your BIOS settings for an option related to UEFI or 'other OS.' Turning off secure boot and any fast boot options can also help get the installation running smoother.

I did turn off secure boot and fast boot, but I still ran into the same issue with the USB. Any other suggestions?
