I accidentally deleted amtlib.dll last night and restored it by reinstalling the file, but Adobe Acrobat still won't launch at all. What's the best way to repair the installation or get Acrobat working again?

A repair install may fix it, but a clean reinstall is usually more reliable after a required file has been deleted. Use Acrobat’s built-in repair option if it opens far enough, otherwise uninstall and reinstall the full application.
You could also consider a lighter PDF reader if Acrobat’s extra features aren’t necessary. Just make sure the alternative supports the tasks you use, such as searching, highlighting, filling forms, editing, or organizing pages.
Try uninstalling Acrobat completely through Control Panel, then restart your computer and install the latest version directly from Adobe’s official website. If the uninstaller leaves an Acrobat folder behind, remove that leftover folder before reinstalling. Avoid downloading individual DLL files from random sites.
