I marked the post for Showoff Saturday because the description seemed like a good fit. However, the post was removed, and I'm not sure why. Is sharing a useful, self-built website considered promotion rather than a project showcase? I'd really appreciate some guidance on how to present it appropriately and hopefully get feedback on what I made.

A showcase day usually isn’t a free pass for every announcement. The idea is to highlight a substantial project, while small updates, newsletters, or promotional pages may be better suited to other places. If the site is the project, give readers enough detail to evaluate the work without requiring them to click the link first.
Self-promotion rules can be applied pretty strictly, especially when a post contains a prominent link. Even a free and genuinely useful project may be removed if the post reads like an advertisement. Try explaining the problem, showing screenshots or examples, describing your implementation, and making the request for feedback the main point.
The likely issue is how the post came across. It sounded more like promotion for a newsletter or product than a showcase of a project. Showcase threads usually work better when they focus on what you built, the technical decisions behind it, what you learned, and the kind of feedback you want—not just what the tool does or why people should use it.
