I've been having some major issues with my monitors and TV lately. I used to have a reliable monitor on my desk, but it started flickering and acting weird. So, I temporarily replaced it with my TV. I've never had any problems with the TV until recently. One night, after turning off the AC, I noticed the TV's colors were all inverted, the mouse cursor was black, and the background turned white. It flickered a lot, too, and though it eventually stopped, there's now a small blue line running vertically down the right side of the screen. I'm beginning to suspect the AC unit may be causing these issues. Recently, I also dealt with a huge ant problem, and I've found some ants inside the screen. Could the ants or the AC unit be the culprit, or is this just a coincidence?

Sounds like the AC unit could be the main issue. If it’s too close and cooling things down too fast, it might create condensation that can damage the electronics. Try moving it to a different circuit and at least using a surge protector to be safe!
I’m more concerned about the condensation from the AC affecting it since I live in a humid area.
It seems like condensation could be a big factor here. If your TV is really close to the wall and you’re blasting the AC, that drastic temperature difference might be causing some moisture build-up inside the screen, leading to the problems you’re facing. Sounds odd but it could explain what you’re experiencing!
I would definitely consider the ants as a possible problem. They might have gotten into the electronics and caused some issues. Plus, if your device isn't plugged into a surge protector, investing in a decent UPS could help protect it from power issues too. It's worth looking into!
UPS? My TV and monitor are plugged straight into the wall, though.
Just to clarify, the TV isn't plugged into the same outlet as the AC.
