I recently built a new PC with a Ryzen 5 7600X, 16GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, and a 650W Gold-rated power supply. My monitor is 1440p at 200Hz, and I play everything from indie games to demanding AAA titles. I'm also fine with using upscaling and other performance features.
I bought an Intel Arc B580 12GB for €320, but I can still return it and purchase an RX 9060 XT 16GB for €435 instead. Since I'd like to keep the graphics card for at least five years, I'm wondering whether the extra €115 is worthwhile for roughly 20–30% more performance, better 1440p results, and the additional VRAM. Which card makes more sense at these prices?

Neither card is guaranteed to run the newest games comfortably at native 1440p five years from now, so the faster card is the safer long-term purchase. The additional 20–30% performance gives you more headroom before you need to lower settings or rely heavily on upscaling. If you don’t expect to upgrade the GPU soon, the 9060 XT is worth the premium.
The RX 9060 XT is the stronger choice here, especially for 1440p. The performance gap may be greater than 30% depending on the game, and its newer upscaling features should also give you more options as demanding titles come out. For only €115 extra, I’d lean toward returning the B580 and getting the 9060 XT if you plan to keep the card for several years.
The B580 is closer to the RTX 4060 or RX 7600 class, while the RX 9060 XT is in a noticeably higher performance tier. The difference should be particularly useful at 1440p, where the extra graphics power and 16GB of VRAM can help with newer AAA games.
That makes sense. I was mainly unsure whether the extra €115 was justified at the prices I found, but the longer usable lifespan is what matters most to me.
