I'm considering buying my first gaming PC and put together a parts list. The build includes an Nvidia RTX 5070, 32GB of DDR5 memory, a white motherboard, an SSD, and a high-wattage power supply. I like the black-and-white look, but I'm not sure whether the parts are well balanced or if there are better-value alternatives. I'm planning to buy the system later, so I'd also appreciate advice on what might change before then. Are there any parts I should replace or avoid?

The build could use a few value adjustments. A higher-quality CPU cooler would be worthwhile, while a less expensive motherboard should do the job unless the white finish is especially important to you. SSD prices are high right now too, so look for a cheaper model with similar real-world performance. I’d also reconsider the RTX 5070 at its current price—an RX 9070 or 9070 XT may offer more VRAM and better performance for similar money, unless you specifically need Nvidia features. An 850W power supply should be plenty, so the oversized unit is probably unnecessary.
For the memory, I’d stick with a reputable kit from G.Skill or Corsair. The price difference may be worth it for better support and warranty coverage, especially if you’re buying the system over time. Before finalizing anything, it would help to know your total budget, target resolution and frame rate, and which games you plan to play.
I do like the black-and-white theme, and I’m not in a rush since I’ll probably buy the parts later. I’m also trying to keep the 32GB DDR5 kit affordable, so I don’t want to spend more than necessary.
