My current system has an Intel i7-9700K, an RTX 4060, and 24GB of 2400MHz RAM limited by the motherboard. I'm considering moving to a Ryzen 5 9600X, 32GB of DDR5-6000 CL30 memory, and a B650 Eagle motherboard while keeping the RTX 4060 for now. The upgrade would cost roughly £730, mainly because the RAM is currently close to £400. I play Transport Fever 2/3 and similar simulation games, iRacing, Forza, and eventually GTA 6. I'm staying at 1080p because of my monitor. Is this a sensible upgrade path, or would I be better off changing some of the parts?

I’d at least look at a stronger graphics card such as an RTX 5060 or RX 9060 XT, but that only makes sense if you can stretch the budget. Since the GPU isn’t your current priority, it’s fine to keep the 4060 and upgrade it in a year or so.
Yes, it would be a substantial platform upgrade. The newer CPU, faster memory, and much stronger upgrade path should help, especially in simulation games and other CPU-heavy titles. Keeping the RTX 4060 is reasonable if you’re happy with 1080p and plan to replace the GPU later.
A GPU upgrade isn’t in the budget right now. I’m mainly trying to improve the platform first and can revisit the graphics card later.
