I updated my Gigabyte A320M-S2H motherboard BIOS from F55 to F59c, and afterward the computer boots straight into BIOS with a "no bootable device detected" message. Windows is installed on a 1TB Samsung SATA SSD, but the BIOS and Windows installation media cannot see it, even though other storage devices are detected. I already reseated and replaced the SATA cables. The motherboard seems to recognize only the NVMe drive and whichever device is connected to SATA port 2; drives connected to the other SATA ports disappear. Is there a BIOS setting or other fix I can try without reinstalling Windows?

The F59c BIOS appears to have a SATA detection bug on this motherboard. Rolling the firmware back to F58 restored detection of the Samsung SSD and the other SATA drives. Reverting to the previous stable BIOS is the fix here, rather than reinstalling Windows.
First, rule out a dead SSD by testing it in another computer or with a different SATA power and data connection. Also check the BIOS storage settings for an option that enables all SATA ports or storage devices rather than only the last known boot device. Since the system only recognizes the drive on one particular port, the port configuration or firmware is more likely than a Windows installation problem.
The SSD works when I connect it to SATA port 2, but the other SATA drives still disappear. The system is also extremely slow while using that setup.
That fixed it. After rolling back from F59c to F58, all of my drives showed up again and Windows booted normally.
