I'm considering moving my gaming PC to Debian, but I'm worried about performance and hardware support. I currently use an RTX 4070 and recently got into sim racing with several MOZA peripherals. I've heard that MOZA's Pit House software can require some workarounds on Linux. Would Debian provide a good experience for gaming and sim racing, or would it be more practical to stay on Windows 11 for now?

Several racing games run well on Linux, including Dirt Rally 2.0, Assetto Corsa Rally, and Automobilista 2. However, games such as Le Mans Ultimate and iRacing may not work because of their anti-cheat systems. It’s worth checking every title you care about before switching.
It mostly depends on the games you want to play. Steam and Proton work very well for many single-player and older racing games, but multiplayer titles with strict anti-cheat can be a problem. If compatibility with every game matters, Windows is still the less frustrating option.
