I'm building my first PC, but high RAM and GPU prices are making the budget difficult. My main workloads are After Effects, DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, and 3D modeling, with possible game development later. Gaming isn't my priority, although I'd like to play AAA games at 1440p using a used RTX 3080 Ti.
The Ryzen 9 9900X costs about 43,000 BDT ($350), the Ryzen 7 7700X is around 24,000 BDT ($195), and the Core i5-14600K is about 29,000 BDT ($235). I'm considering DDR5 with the Ryzen system or DDR4 with the Intel system. Is the 9900X's extra performance noticeable enough to justify the price, or would a 7700X, 14600K, or possibly another processor be a better value for editing and 3D work? I plan to keep the PC for roughly five to seven years, so upgrade potential matters too.

A Core i5-14600K with 32GB of DDR4 is probably the strongest budget-oriented option here. DDR4 costs less, and the savings can go toward a better GPU or 64GB of memory, which may help your editing and 3D applications more than moving to an expensive processor. Use a capable CPU cooler.
If you want DDR5 and a newer platform, consider a newer Intel chip with strong multicore performance rather than automatically choosing the 9900X. However, don’t settle for only 16GB of RAM for After Effects, Premiere, DaVinci, and 3D work. Thirty-two gigabytes should be the minimum, and 64GB would be preferable if the budget allows.
The newer platform gives you better memory and upgrade options, but the extra cost is only worthwhile if you can still afford enough RAM and a suitable GPU.
The 9900X is clearly faster in heavily threaded productivity work, but the improvement may not justify spending an extra $115 if that forces you to reduce RAM or GPU quality. It makes sense only if you can afford it comfortably and your projects regularly benefit from more cores.
For occasional editing and modeling, the cheaper CPU would probably feel almost the same. The difference becomes more noticeable with long renders, exports, and larger projects.
For 1440p gaming with an RTX 3080 Ti, all of these CPUs should be fine in most games. At that resolution the GPU will usually matter more, so DDR4 is not automatically a bad choice. For your stated productivity workloads, prioritize CPU cores, RAM capacity, and fast storage over small gaming benchmark differences.
DDR4 may be less attractive several years from now, but buying a balanced system today is better than sacrificing memory capacity or GPU performance just to get DDR5.

If you choose Intel, a 14700K is faster than the 14600K, but at roughly $410 it sounds difficult to justify unless your workloads are frequent and heavily multithreaded. A 13600K can also be a reasonable value if it frees enough money for more RAM.
