I'm running Windows 11, and since yesterday my PC has randomly started playing the USB device connected/disconnected sound. I disabled application notifications, so it doesn't seem to be caused by a normal app. I also checked Event Viewer and USBLogView, but neither shows anything when the sound plays. What can I do to identify the source and stop the noise?

Disconnect everything from the USB ports, including hubs and other peripherals, then reconnect each device one at a time. Once the sound returns, test that device with a known-good replacement. If the replacement causes the same problem, the port or its connection may be faulty; otherwise, the original device is probably failing.
Wouldn’t USBLogView normally detect the problem if a USB device were actually disconnecting?
