I built my current PC around 2019, and although it used to perform great, I'm now seeing lower frame rates than before. It has a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti, Ryzen 5 3600, and 48GB of DDR4 memory. I game at 1440p on a 165Hz monitor and would like to play at high settings. My budget is roughly $1,000–$1,500, and I'm interested in strong higher-end options without paying for unnecessary overkill. Should I upgrade my current system or build a new one? If I replace parts, I'd also like a case with better airflow than the NZXT H510. My power supply is a Corsair 850W unit, and I'm located in South Florida.

Before replacing hardware, consider doing a clean Windows installation and reinstalling the graphics drivers. Background software, driver issues, and a cluttered operating system can reduce performance. It’s worth checking temperatures, GPU and CPU usage, memory speed, and whether the frame-rate problem affects every game or only newer titles.
A new AM5 build in this budget could include a Ryzen 5 7600-class CPU, a B650 motherboard, 32GB of DDR5-6000 memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and a modern midrange graphics card. That gives you a newer upgrade path and fresh components, but the graphics card may not be as large an improvement for the money as upgrading your existing AM4 system and putting more of the budget into the GPU.
The most cost-effective route is probably keeping your AM4 platform and upgrading the CPU and graphics card. A Ryzen 7 5800X3D-class processor, or another strong X3D chip compatible with your motherboard, paired with a used RTX 3080 or similar GPU would be a major improvement at 1440p. Before buying RAM, check whether the 48GB is made from mismatched kits and confirm that it is running at its rated speed. Also verify that your 850W Corsair power supply is a good-quality model. You can choose nearly any well-ventilated case that fits your motherboard.
You may also find good value in a complete used system. A machine with a Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB of DDR4, and an RTX 3080 would be a substantial jump from your current PC and could fit below your maximum budget if priced fairly. Just inspect the power supply, cooler, storage health, and overall condition before buying.
