I know very little about PC hardware and have only used Apple laptops so far. I'm considering buying a gaming PC in a year or two, around the time GTA 6 releases, and I'd like it to handle other demanding games for several years as well. Ideally, I want good-looking 4K graphics at a minimum of 60 FPS, with some room for mods and future upgrades. Since the game's actual PC requirements and the hardware market are unknown, what kind of budget should I plan for, including a monitor and basic peripherals?

Don’t choose specific parts yet. In two years, newer CPUs and graphics cards will be available, and today’s recommendations may be outdated. For now, learn the basics of PC components and watch a few beginner building guides. When you’re closer to buying, ask again with your budget, country, monitor plans, and preferred performance target.
Your target resolution and frame rate will make a big difference. A 1440p build at a stable 60 FPS should be much more affordable than a fully maxed-out 4K system. For 4K at 60 FPS or higher, you’ll probably need a top-tier graphics card and a strong gaming CPU, though nobody can know the exact requirements until the game is released.
If you want the computer itself plus a decent 4K monitor and peripherals, I’d aim to have roughly $3,000 available, with some extra flexibility. You may not need the absolute most expensive parts—reducing a few settings or using upscaling can make a big difference while still looking great.
It’s impossible to give an exact number this far ahead. We don’t know GTA 6’s PC requirements, what hardware will be available, or how prices will change. As a rough target, saving around $2,000–$3,000 for the tower is reasonable, but a high-end 4K setup with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and headset could push the total closer to $3,000–$4,000 depending on where you live.
That makes sense. I’d rather save a little extra so the system lasts longer and can handle future games too.
