I'm running Windows 11 on a desktop PC and recently started having a problem with folder renaming. I can rename one folder successfully, but when I try to rename the next folder, File Explorer hangs and then closes. I have to reopen it before I can continue, so I'm limited to renaming one folder at a time.
This is happening while I reorganize media-server folders, and it occurs across multiple drives rather than on one specific disk. I've already disabled OneDrive syncing, rebooted the computer, restarted Windows Explorer through Task Manager, and cleared File Explorer and thumbnail caches, but none of that helped.
My system is a 64-bit Windows 11 Home desktop with an Intel Core i7-9700K, 32 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA RTX 4080 SUPER, and OS build 26200.9278. Is there another troubleshooting step or workaround that could identify and fix the cause?

A hang-analysis utility such as WhatIsHang may help identify whether Explorer is waiting on a shell extension, storage component, or another process. Run it while Explorer is frozen and inspect the listed thread, modules, or call stack. In this case, the report appears to contain no useful stack or module information, so it doesn’t identify the cause by itself.
Try clearing File Explorer’s history as well as the thumbnail cache. A corrupted recent-items or folder-history entry can sometimes cause unusual Explorer behavior, although it may not resolve a crash caused by a third-party shell extension.
I generated a report, but the call stack, modules, and most of the stack data were empty. I’m not sure how to interpret that or what I should check next.
