I'm choosing between two similarly priced gaming PCs. The first has a Ryzen 5 7600 and RTX 3080 for about £400, while the second has a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and RX 6750 XT for around £350. I mainly want to play Battlefield 6, The Last of Us, God of War, GTA Online, Forza, and Spider-Man. I currently use a 1080p 120Hz monitor but may upgrade to 1440p within the next year. Which combination would give me the better overall gaming experience?

I’d choose the Ryzen 5 7600 and RTX 3080 system. The RTX 3080 is considerably faster than the RX 6750 XT, and that extra GPU performance will matter more for these games, especially if you move to 1440p. DLSS support is also broader and can provide better image quality in supported titles. The AM5 platform gives you a straightforward CPU upgrade path later, potentially even to a higher-end X3D chip.
The 7800X3D is the stronger gaming CPU, but paired with a 6750 XT it may be less balanced for your use case. At 1080p and very high refresh rates, the CPU advantage could help in some games, but the RTX 3080 build should deliver higher average settings and frame rates overall. It also makes more sense for a future 1440p upgrade, where the GPU becomes the main limiting factor.
I probably won’t use upscaling, DLSS, FSR, or frame generation, so I’m mainly comparing native-resolution performance.
