The RTX 5070 Ti costs about €300–350 more than the RX 9070 XT where I live. For gaming alone, the performance seems fairly similar, so I would normally choose the cheaper AMD card. However, I also use DaVinci Resolve and may start using Blender, and I've heard NVIDIA can have significant advantages for video editing, encoding, rendering, and color-related workflows. Is the extra cost justified for those productivity tasks, or would the RX 9070 XT still be the better overall value?

DaVinci Resolve generally works fine on AMD, so it isn’t automatically a reason to choose NVIDIA. Blender has improved its Radeon support, but NVIDIA is still usually faster and more widely supported for GPU rendering. If Blender rendering will directly earn you money or save you substantial work time, the 5070 Ti may be worth it; otherwise, the price difference is difficult to justify.
The RTX card also offers advantages if you care about DLSS, frame generation, ray tracing, or NVIDIA’s software ecosystem. AMD’s upscaling has improved considerably, though, so those features alone may not be worth €300–350 unless you play demanding ray-traced games or really want the highest image quality.
Think about how often you’ll use the productivity features rather than just whether they exist. For occasional editing and gaming, buy the 9070 XT and put the savings toward a better CPU, monitor, or storage. For frequent professional editing, Blender rendering, local AI, or workflows that depend on CUDA and NVIDIA encoders, paying extra for the 5070 Ti can be reasonable.
For gaming alone, the RX 9070 XT is the better value and I wouldn’t spend an extra €300–350 for comparable performance. The RTX 5070 Ti makes more sense if you specifically need NVIDIA features such as CUDA, stronger ray tracing, DLSS, or certain AI and creator applications.
That’s what I’m trying to figure out—whether my DaVinci and possible Blender use is enough to justify paying for those NVIDIA advantages.
