I'm using Windows with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060. GeForce Experience appears to download the newest driver successfully, but after the download finishes, nothing seems to change and Windows still reports that I'm using the older driver. How can I get the current driver installed properly?

First, check the installed version in NVIDIA Control Panel under Help > System Information rather than relying only on GeForce Experience. If it’s still old, download the driver directly from NVIDIA, choose the Custom installation option, select “Perform a clean installation,” and run the installer as administrator. If that still fails, use Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to remove the existing driver, then install the fresh driver afterward.
If the computer is a prebuilt from Dell, HP, Lenovo, or another manufacturer, try the driver offered by that manufacturer first. Some systems use custom hardware IDs or modified drivers, so the standard NVIDIA package may refuse to replace the existing one even when the graphics card is the same model.
It’s a Windows system with GeForce Experience and an RTX 3060, so I’ll check the installed version directly and try a clean installation.
