I'm considering upgrading from an RTX 3050 and want to know whether the 16GB RX 9060 XT is worth its current price of around €500. For people who own one, what CPU and RAM are you pairing it with, and what frame rates are you getting at 1080p and 1440p? My current system has an Intel i7-12700K and 16GB of DDR4 memory. I'm mainly looking for a card that can run modern games comfortably at 1440p for the next few years.

The main question is the price. €500 is a little steep for the RX 9060 XT, and a stronger RX 9070 or similar card can offer noticeably more performance if you can stretch your budget. However, if those cards cost closer to €800 where you live, the 9060 XT makes more sense. It should be a comfortable 1440p upgrade from an RTX 3050, especially at high settings, but compare local prices before buying. Dropping from ultra to high can also improve frame rates by roughly 15–30% in many games.
Owners report excellent results with this card. One setup using a Core i5-14600K and 64GB of DDR4 was getting over 120 FPS at 1080p on ultra in most games, with demanding titles still staying above 100 FPS at high settings. At 1440p, you may need to use high instead of ultra in heavier games, but the 16GB of VRAM should help as newer games become more memory-intensive. Your i7-12700K should pair well with it.
It’s a strong 1440p card. Most games should run around or above 60 FPS at 1440p, and many lighter titles can go well past 100 FPS. At 1080p high settings, around 120 FPS is common without upscaling or frame generation. €500 is expensive, but it’s still reasonable if you specifically want a capable 1440p card and don’t want to spend more on a higher-tier model. The 16GB version is the better choice for long-term use.
