I'm currently using a GTX 1070 Ti with a Ryzen 5 5600X and mainly play at 1080p. I'd like to upgrade so I can play newer games such as Black Myth: Wukong and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth more comfortably. My budget is about $240. Should I look for a specific new or used GPU, and are there any models I should prioritize?

Try to avoid limiting yourself to new cards, because there may not be many current-generation options under $240. If you can raise the budget to around $300, the selection improves noticeably. Prioritize cards with more than 8GB of VRAM when possible, especially for demanding games, and be cautious with very old cards that may need cleaning or repasting.
An Intel Arc B570 around $250 is another option if you can stretch slightly. It has plenty of VRAM and should receive driver support for a while, although checking game-specific benchmarks and making sure your system is configured for Resizable BAR would be wise.
