Should I build my gaming and streaming PC now or wait for the next GPU and CPU platforms?

The next GPU generation and AM6 are unlikely to be immediate upgrades. Based on the expected release windows, you could be waiting until around 2027 or 2028, and launch pricing may be high or availability may be poor. A 9800X3D-based system should remain strong for a long time, so I wouldn’t postpone the entire build just for future-proofing.

If you need the PC now, build it now. There will always be another GPU generation or socket on the horizon, and current hardware is already more than capable for gaming and streaming. Waiting only makes sense if you have a specific upcoming release in mind and are genuinely comfortable delaying the build for several years.

Before buying, make sure the 5070 Ti matches your monitor resolution, refresh rate, and streaming needs. You could build the core system now and upgrade the graphics card later if a future generation offers a worthwhile improvement. Waiting for an imagined future flagship is usually less practical than buying hardware that meets your needs today.

There’s no real end point to waiting. People can keep pushing the target from the next GPU series to an even later one, but the newer parts will also cost more and may not provide a dramatic improvement for your use case. If you can wait until a confirmed product launch and compare real benchmarks, that’s reasonable; otherwise, go ahead with the build.
