Whenever I try to open a browser other than Microsoft Edge, it closes immediately. I've already reinstalled the affected browsers, run chkdsk /scan C: and chkdsk /offlinescanandfix C: from an administrator Command Prompt, repaired Edge, and disabled my startup apps. Firefox and Chrome both behave the same way, while Edge continues to open normally. What could be causing this, and what should I check next?

It would help to know exactly which Windows edition and build you’re running. Some limited or Education editions can have application restrictions that affect browsers. Press Win+R, enter winver, and check the Windows version and edition shown there.
Since both Chrome and Firefox close immediately, the issue may be system-wide rather than a problem with either browser. Check Windows Event Viewer under Windows Logs > Application for an error recorded at the moment the browser closes. The faulting application or module may point to the cause.
Try starting Windows with a clean boot, temporarily disabling third-party antivirus or security software, and then launching one of the browsers. If it works, re-enable services and startup items in groups until the software causing the conflict is identified. You can also test from a newly created Windows user account to rule out a damaged user profile.
