Why is SCCM reporting zero required Office 365 updates?

Is anyone else seeing inaccurate update counts in SCCM? Office 365 is currently showing zero required updates, while other updates seem to take a long time to appear. After changing Office from the Semi-Annual Channel to the Monthly Enterprise Channel over the past couple of months, Office updates no longer appear applicable. Could the channel change be involved, or is another update-management setting taking precedence?

Check whether Office cloud update management was enabled through config.office.com. If it is active, it may be managing updates instead of SCCM, which would explain why SCCM reports no applicable Office updates. Verify the Office deployment and detection settings as well.

If your organization expects SCCM to control patch levels, disable the cloud-based auto-update setting. It can allow clients to update directly and move past the versions approved by IT.

Some update counts take time to refresh, especially after switching Office update channels. However, if Office consistently shows zero required updates, check the deployment configuration, detection rules, and whether cloud update management has taken over. The channel change may have exposed an existing configuration rather than being the only cause.
