Hey everyone! I'm 26, originally from Italy but living in France. Right now, I'm working a helpdesk support job to make ends meet. In my spare time, I invest a lot of energy into programming—building apps and websites, and even working on a small video game. I've recently decided to go back to university, and I'm thinking about diving into freelancing to support myself. I want to know if this is a realistic goal. Check out my website at riccardoventurini.dev. Do you think I need to make any changes to present myself more professionally? Any suggestions for improvements would be greatly appreciated! I'm a bit scared of failing since I'm navigating this journey alone, but I'm also really excited to give it a shot. What do you think?

Your website looks pretty clean! Consider making the background scroll a bit less distracting on mobile, and maybe center-align your menu items for better usability. Full stack can get broad, but it can definitely be fun too! Good luck!

That’s really helpful, thank you!
I think your site is great for representing yourself as a developer. I'm on the same path, creating a React project for my portfolio too! Just curious, how are you planning to promote yourself and find clients?
Thanks! I plan to start working with small local businesses like cafés and restaurants. Also, I’ll explore freelance platforms, even if I’m a bit hesitant due to my lack of professional experience.
Dude, just start charging people a fair price for your work! You've got to begin somewhere, so don't hesitate. Start with friends or folks you know to build up your confidence and get some experience under your belt. Keep pushing forward!
Totally agree! It's wise advice. Just gotta dive in!
Starting can be nerve-wracking, but it's totally okay to feel that way! Your site is decent overall, but I noticed some minor tweaks could help. The moving animation is glitchy on mobile, and it affects the layout. It's not too serious, but fixing it would enhance the user experience. Just be yourself on your site; it feels genuine!
I really appreciate your feedback!
Your portfolio shows a lot of passion and creativity! I recommend shortening the introduction section a bit—it's a bit of a visual overload right now. Also, adding a dedicated page for each project with screenshots or videos would help showcase your work better. Good luck with your freelancing!
Thanks for the valuable suggestions!
Thanks for the tips!
