I'm building my first Discord bot and want to learn JavaScript, Node.js, and eventually TypeScript for the project. I've been working through online JavaScript courses and practicing the exercises, but a day or two later I often feel like I've forgotten much of what I studied. Is this normal, and what are some effective ways to retain the concepts and improve my learning process?

Don’t worry about remembering every piece of syntax immediately. Experiment in the browser console or your development environment, change things, and see what breaks. When you get stuck, look up the relevant lesson or documentation and then try again. That process of checking, testing, and revisiting topics gradually reinforces the information and helps you recognize larger programming patterns.
It’s common to forget JavaScript syntax even after studying it more than once. Usually the underlying logic sticks better than the exact spelling of a method or statement, and experienced developers look up syntax too. Keep practicing, make small programs, and use your notes for quick refreshers so you can spend more time building instead of relearning from scratch.
