I want to improve cooling in my Dell OptiPlex 3080 Tower by installing a new CPU cooler and three 80 mm PWM case fans. The motherboard only has one fan header, so I'm trying to figure out the safest and most practical way to connect everything. I'm also planning to install a Dell 500 W power supply, an RX 5600 XT, and keep the existing Core i5-10505. Are daisy-chained fans, a splitter, or a powered fan hub the best option?

Check compatibility before buying an aftermarket CPU cooler. Dell systems can use nonstandard mounting hardware, fan connectors, or BIOS fan-control behavior, and the OptiPlex 3080 may not accept every cooler designed for a normal retail motherboard. Confirm the cooler supports the LGA1200 socket and physically fits the case. Also verify that the Dell 500 W PSU and graphics card have the required connectors and clearance.
Arctic P8 PST fans are another convenient option because they include pass-through connectors for daisy-chaining. You can usually connect the case fans together and run them from the single header, but check the total current draw before connecting too many fans. The CPU cooler is generally better connected separately if possible, using a splitter or hub rather than adding it to a long chain.
A powered PWM fan hub is probably the cleanest solution. It lets the motherboard control several fans from one header while drawing the fans’ power from the PSU instead of overloading the motherboard header. Make sure the hub supports PWM and has the appropriate SATA or Molex power connection.
If I use those fans, can I include the CPU cooler in the same chain, or would a splitter be safer?
