I'm looking to secure a vanity domain name that matches my company, which I already have in .com, .net, and a few others. Ideally, I'd want `something.whatever`, but it turns out that this domain is already registered. I use Name.com, and they have a Domain Agents service to help with this, but I'm curious if there are any other options available to negotiate or obtain this domain?

It's really frustrating when the domain you want is taken. One option you have is to reach out to the current owner directly and see if they're willing to sell it. Just keep in mind that they'll likely know its value, so don't lowball them or they'll be less inclined to negotiate. You could also look into filing a trademark dispute if you had your trademark registered before they got the domain, but that can get complicated and costly.
Thanks for the advice! I'm not looking to spend a ton just for a vanity domain, though. The site doesn't even resolve to anything and the WHOIS info is pretty empty.
