A friend is helping me put together a gaming PC with a maximum budget of $1,000 USD. It will mainly be used for games such as Overwatch and Marvel Rivals. I'm new to PC building and would appreciate a second opinion on whether the parts offer good performance for the price, along with suggestions for cheaper alternatives that provide similar or better specs.

There are several ways to improve the price-to-performance balance. A retailer bundle deal could reduce the cost, and you can probably use the processor’s included stock cooler instead of buying another one. With a few other part changes, you could fit 32 GB of RAM and a graphics card with 16 GB of VRAM while saving roughly $90 overall.
I’d avoid using the Legend 710 as the operating-system drive because it uses QLC flash. QLC drives generally have lower endurance and can slow down more noticeably as they age. A TLC-based drive, such as the Patriot P300, P320, or P400 Lite, would be a safer choice for the main drive.
Would spending about $20 more on a Ryzen 5 5600 instead of the Ryzen 5 5500 be worthwhile? It would enable PCIe 4.0 and provide a noticeable performance improvement.
