I connected a basic rabbit-ear antenna to the coaxial antenna input on my new Samsung Smart TV, but I can't figure out how to view local channels such as NBC, CBS, and ABC. The TV only seems to show Samsung TV Plus and its large selection of streaming channels. I also have an Apple TV and DVD player connected, but while the Apple TV appears as an available input, I can't switch to the DVD player either. I followed Samsung's setup instructions, but under the available TV Plus settings I only see options such as captions, parental controls, clear history, and information about Samsung TV Plus. I don't see a Broadcasting or channel-scan option. Could this be a settings issue, a missing tuner, or a hardware/input problem?

For the DVD player, look in the full Source list rather than the TV Plus app. If the television has composite inputs, select AV or Composite and make sure the yellow video cable and red/white audio cables are connected to the matching ports. Some newer Samsung TVs don’t have built-in RCA jacks and require a compatible composite-to-HDMI converter or Samsung adapter. If the DVD player still doesn’t appear as a source, that may be a separate connection or compatibility issue.
The antenna channels won’t appear inside Samsung TV Plus. Make sure the coax cable is connected to the TV’s ANT IN/RF input, then switch to the TV’s Live TV or Antenna source and run an automatic channel scan. On many Samsung models, the scan is under Settings > All Settings > Broadcasting > Auto Program. If you only see TV Plus options and there is no Broadcasting menu at all, check the exact model number—some Samsung displays or region-specific models don’t include a broadcast tuner. The TV may also need to be set up in Home mode rather than Retail or Demo mode.
I checked those instructions, but the only menu I can access has captions, parental controls, clear history, and TV Plus information. There’s no All Settings or Broadcasting section, so I’ll check whether this particular model actually has a tuner.
