I'd like to create a simple personal website where I can publish articles, write blog posts, and share my photography. It doesn't need to look highly professional or function like a business site—I mainly want a place to showcase my work. I'm not especially interested in buying a custom domain, and I'd prefer a platform that requires little or no programming. What options would suit this best?

Tumblr could work well for a casual photoblog with short articles and image posts. Grav is another option, but it’s more hands-on and would be better if you eventually want more control over the site and don’t mind learning some technical setup.
WordPress.com is probably the best fit. Its free plan gives you a hosted subdomain, and the editor and themes let you publish text and photography without writing code. There are plenty of design options if you want to customize the appearance later.
If you want something even more focused on writing, platforms like Substack or Medium are convenient because you can start publishing immediately. They’re less flexible than building your own site, but they’re very beginner-friendly.
