My WhatsApp messages are arriving, but my iPhone doesn't show any notifications. I only know someone contacted me after opening the app and checking manually. I've already checked that Do Not Disturb, Sleep, and the other basic focus settings are turned off. What else can I try to restore message notifications?

Check your iPhone’s notification settings for WhatsApp: open Settings > Notifications > WhatsApp and make sure Allow Notifications is enabled. Also turn on Lock Screen, Notification Center, and Banners, and make sure sounds and badges are allowed.
It’s also worth checking WhatsApp’s own notification settings. In WhatsApp, open Settings > Notifications and confirm that message and group notifications are enabled. Check whether individual chats or groups were accidentally muted too.
If all the settings look correct, try closing and reopening WhatsApp, restarting the iPhone, and installing any available updates. You can also toggle notifications off and back on, then test with a new message.
