Spout2PW in Lutris can’t connect to PipeWire on Linux Mint

I'm new to Linux Mint Cinnamon and am trying to use Spout2PW with Lutris. Spout2PW is intended to provide Spout2-style transparent window sharing between a program and OBS. I installed PipeWire and the OBS PipeWire video plugin, downloaded the latest Spout2PW release, and configured Lutris to use the recommended GE-Proton 10 build.

The application I'm trying to run is VNyan, which supports Spout2. In Lutris, I set the system options to launch spout2pw.sh. Disabling Feral GameMode fixed an earlier issue where Lutris could not read the script, but I now receive this error:

"Failed to check PipeWire daemon version"

The relevant log output is:

Started initial process 3036 from /home/mae/spout2pw/spout2pw.sh /home/mae/.var/app/net.lutris.Lutris/data/lutris/runtime/umu/umu-run /home/mae/Games/vseeface/drive_c/vnyan/VNyan.exe
Spout2PW(debug): Spout2PW install path: /home/mae/spout2pw
can't connect: Host is down
** Spout2PW error: Failed to check PipeWire daemon version
Monitored process exited with return code 256

PipeWire appears to be installed and running in Mission Center, and I already use another PipeWire source in OBS. Does this indicate that the user PipeWire service is stopped or inaccessible? What should I check or restart?

Check the user-level PipeWire logs first. Run `journalctl --user -u pipewire` and look for startup errors or connection problems. Since Spout2PW needs to communicate with the PipeWire daemon, a system service appearing active does not always mean the current user session can connect to it.

You can also try restarting the user services with `systemctl --user restart pipewire pipewire-pulse`, then launch VNyan through Lutris again.
